The Bimbo Global Race returns in 2024, aiming to donate 2.8 million bread slices to those who need it most

  • Under the slogan "We share the good," the Bimbo Global Race invites runners to unite in support of local communities. 

Grupo Bimbo, the world's largest bakery company, is opening registration for the ninth annual Bimbo Global Race, the biggest “race with a cause” around the world, will take place on September. This year, Grupo Bimbo's goal is to donate 2.8 million slices of bread to international Food Banks by registering more than 140,000 runners physically and virtually worldwide. The company will donate 20 slices of bread for each participant registered in the physical race and 2 slices of bread for each registration in the virtual race community.  For Bimbo QSR, donation will be of 10 buns per each virtual registration.

With this initiative, Grupo Bimbo reaffirms its commitment to improving the lives of people living in the communities in which it operates, in line with its mission of Nourishing a Better World.  

This year’s Bimbo Global Race theme is "We share the good," promoting the idea that sharing the good changes lives. Grupo Bimbo invites members of the global community to unite in a shared day of fun, fitness, and community building, all for a great cause.

This year, the Bimbo Global Race will be held in 28 cities in 21 countries: Argentina (Buenos Aires), Brazil (São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro), Canada (Toronto), Colombia (Bogotá), Costa Rica (San José), Chile (Santiago and Chillan), China (Beijing), Ecuador (Quito), El Salvador (San Salvador), Spain (Barcelona and Madrid), United States (Los Angeles), Guatemala, Honduras (Tegucigalpa), India (Delhi), Mexico (CDMX, Guadalajara, Puebla, Monterrey, and Veracruz), Paraguay (Asunción), Peru (Lima), Portugal (Lisbon), United Kingdom (Sheffield), Romania (Cluj-Napoca) and Uruguay (Montevideo). 

This year’s race includes both male and female divisions in three categories, 3K, 5K, and 10K, allowing people of all fitness levels to participate and enjoy the event. Runners with the winning time in the 10K race in both the male and female divisions will earn the right to run in the host city of Bimbo Global Race 2025 and enjoy an all-inclusive sightseeing trip of area landmarks.  

Bogota, Colombia, is serving as the host city for Bimbo Global Race 2024.
