How a small ramp became a powerful symbol of dignity and inclusion at Bimbo QSR in Brazil

Sometimes, the most meaningful changes come from simply paying attention.

When an associate with paralysis from a traffic incident struggled to access the bakery’s entrance, the team knew something had to change. In just four days, the team mapped all step-prone areas, sidewalks were demolished, ramps were installed, and fresh signage was displayed to ensure smooth access for anyone with similar needs.

“We didn’t just solve a problem for one associate,” said Thiago Fernandes Silva, Safety and Wellness Technician. “We created a more inclusive workplace for everyone.”

The most impactful moment was when the associate saw the changes and said, “this had never happened anywhere else I had worked”. That one sentence reminded the team that real inclusion is a daily commitment to seeing people, listening, and responding with care.

At Bimbo QSR, that ramp reflects our culture, where our associates are the heart of our business and everyone deserves to feel valued, supported, and included.
